Home From Vacation And Itchy Spots On You When You Wake Up? You May Have Brought Bed Bugs Home With You

If you just got home from vacation and are now waking up with itchy spots on your legs and other areas, you may have brought bed bugs home with you. This can happen even in the nicest hotels or cleanest homes. Fortunately, you can take care of this problem so you will have a better night's sleep.

Find Bed Bugs

Remove all covers and sheets from your bed and look around the seams of your mattress. If you see dark spots, those may be bed bug droppings or blood. There may be discarded skeletons from where bed bugs hatched. If you look on your sheets, you may see blood from where they ate on you. These bugs need blood to survive. Turn your mattress over and look in the bed springs and all over.

Bed bugs can also get into other areas. For example, you may find them in carpeting, on your curtains, and even in drawers. These bugs are small but large enough that you can see them. If you see any of these signs, you should hire a pest control company that offers bed bug control services. It can be difficult to kill these insects on your own, and they will multiply over time.

Hire Pest Control Company

A pest control company will inspect your home, as they know where to find bed bugs and signs of these pests. If found, they have many options they use to remove them from your home. One option is a heat treatment. These bugs will die in high heat situations, so the pest control company will close all windows and doors in the room. They set up heaters to increase the temperature to a certain degree. It will be up to them how long they leave the heaters in place. When they are finished, all bed bugs will be dead.

Pesticide dust may be used in the room on the carpeting and other areas. The pest control company might suggest you use a mattress encasement to prevent bed bugs from getting back onto your mattress. They have pesticides they inject into cracks and crevices.

The pest control company needs to come back a second time just in case any bed bugs survived the heat treatment. There also may be eggs that did not hatch and did not die. If you do not have them come back, you may have another bed bug infestation.

The pest control company can give you much more information on how they get rid of bed bugs.
